The Transport and Urban Development Authority (TDA) is the City of Cape Town’s driving force for achieving a more equal society based on integrated opportunities, economic inclusion, and access to opportunities.  TDA combines the functions of the old Transport for Cape Town (TCT) with spatial planning and urban development, the management of environmental resources and affordable housing so the City of Cape Town can align its policies and strategies to address the challenges it currently faces.

City drives R55 m upgrade for Sir Lowry’s Pass Road and surrounds

 The City of Cape Town’s Transport and Urban Development Authority will next week commence with the construction of new and improved roads, non-motorised facilities, traffic calming measures, and a new bridge over the Sir Lowry’s River which will benefit and add to the safety of the residents of Sun City, Sir Lowry’s Pass Village and Mission Grounds. The R55 million project will take place over approximately 24 months.

Officers deployed to patrol cycle lane between CBD and Table View

The City of Cape Town has embarked on an initiative – the first of its kind – to help safeguard the cycle lane that runs along the red MyCiTi bus lane between the Cape Town central business district and the MyCiTi station in Table View. This cycle lane is very popular among cyclists, and the officers have been deployed to improve the general safety of cyclists – in particular those who prefer to cycle alone or have to use the lane after hours.
